Join Mitten Lowe and Rachel Weitz for a day-long Fall Equinox and Sukkot Full Moon Earth-Centered Retreat. This women's retreat will include the earth-centered practices of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, but you do not need to be Jewish to join.
Honoring the cycles of the seasons gives us a chance to tune into our own rhythms and align with the magic being offered by the season. In the fall, it is time to harvest what has been growing inside of us. It’s often a celebratory time, also marked by the preparation for winter and the letting go of that which no longer serves. We harvest what is ours to harvest, and we release all that is no longer ours.
When we practice these earth-centered rituals in community, it amplifies our prayers. We often leave these gatherings with a renewed sense of self and interconnectedness to all great things.
As always, we will be accompanied by the wise plant elders that volunteer to partner with us. This offering will also take place at an auspicious time in the Hebrew calendar. We will gather on the full moon of Tishrei, during Sukkot, the great harvest festival and pilgrimage holiday, when we dwell in temporary shelters beneath the stars and remember the impermanence of all things.
This moon is a time of deep joy, of gathering in, of harvesting spiritual and physical bounty, and offering prayers of fullness, gratitude, and belonging. The full moon of Tishrei shines directly over the sukkah, illuminating our connection to spirit, community, and the cycles of nourishment and release.
